Biography
Dr. B. Anjan Kumar Prusty, Senior Scientist (Environmental Impact Assessment Division)holds M Sc and M. Phil in Environmental Sciences for his work on vehicular emissions and impact on planst; and a doctoral degree for his work on chemical speciation and bioavailability of heavy metals in soil in different habitat types of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He has been associated with Sambalpur University (SU), Orissa University of Agricultural Technology (OUAT); KSKV Kachchh University (KSKVKU), and Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology & Natural History (SACON). For past 17 years he has been working on environmental bio-geochemistry, wetlands and climate change, metal speciation and environmental health; environmental contamination and toxicology, and EIA. Currently, he has been focusing on i) Contaminant transfer models and possible bio accumulation across food chain; ii) Rivers basin studies (E-flow and contaminant budgeting, inter-basin water transfer and aquatic ecosystem health); and iii) Environmental carrying capacity. He has 07 years of teaching experience in OUAT, SACON and KSKVKU. He has more than 35 research papers to his credit in indexed journals, 57 abstracts in national and international conference proceedings, 06 books (coauthored/edited); 21 chapters in edited books and also 13 technical reports. He has guided more than a dozen PG students for dissertation, and supervising three doctoral research students. He was involved in developing teaching programme in IGNOU, New Delhi; and acts as an Editorial Board Member of various international journals.
