Biography
Dr. Jayeshkumar Bhanuprasad Bhatt, Scientist in the Terrestrial Ecology Division, holds Ph.D. in Botany (Flora of Western Kachchh) from The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara in 1993. He worked as Junior and Senior Research Fellow in Botanical Survey of India for three years. He has also worked as a Research assistant under ‘Saradar Sarovar Submergence Area Project’ on “Eco-Environmental Studies of Saradar Sarovar Submergence Area” for a period of 3 years. He has obtained Diploma in M.Phil. Level course on Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal. He has work experience of 20 years with the Gujarat State Office of World Wide Fund for Nature-India. He has handled 07 wildlife conservation and Environmental Education projects during his tenure with the WWF-India. As a Principal Investigator, he has handled a Project on “Status, Survey, Distribution and Economic Evaluation of Medicinal Plants in Kachchh” sponsored by National Medicinal Plant Board, Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi. He has been awarded Best Oral Paper Presentation Award in the International Conference on “Medicinal Plants and Management of Lifestyle Diseases” Organised by Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.
