Natural Resource Management

The Division concentrates on various Watershed and Developmental activities including Participatory rural appraisal (PRA) of the project area, Baseline survey and preparation of Detailed Project Report, Formation and registration of village committees and Entry Point Activities such as Survey, Planning and Execution. The Division is also involved in providing Training and exposure visits to the Villagers, Farmers, SHG’s and VWC’s. In addition, Work Phase Activities including construction of ponds, farm bunding for farmers and kit distribution and overall Livelihood and Micro-enterprise activities are taken up in the Project activities. The Division has projects on Training of IWMP projects in Kachchh sponsored by Gujarat State watershed Management Agency (GSWMA), Gandhinagar under the Commissionerate of Rural Development. The main objectives of the IWMP are to restore the ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil and vegetative cover. Recently, the Division is also working on “Restoration of Water Harvesting Structures under Gujarat NAFCC Project”, sponsored by NABARD, with GEER Foundation as Nodal Agency under Gujarat NAFCC Scheme. Further activities such as End Line Evaluation of PMKSY-WC of Batch I, II & III Projects (97 Projects) of the Gujarat State Watershed Management Agency, sponsored by Gujarat State Watershed Management Agency (GSWMA), Gandhinagar is also being conducted by the Division.
