Biography
Dr. Dhara Dixit, Project Scientist in the Coastal and Marine Ecology Division of this Institute has Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Microbiology from Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar, Gujarat and Ph.D in Environmental Science from K.S.K.V. Kachchh University, Bhuj. During her Ph.D, She worked in Interdisciplinary research with special emphasis on “Antibacterial and Antioxidant attributes of Seaweeds”. She had been awarded with Women Scientist-A Fellowship by Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, India during her Ph.D. She has about 10 years of Research experience and has been a part of different State and National funded Research projects. During her tenure as a Project Assistant at CSIR- Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, she has gained experience on various Sophisticated Analytical Techniques. She has been a pioneer in submitting the DNA sequences of four marine seaweed species from the Kachchh coast to the NCBI Database (USA). She has authored Eight International publications in Peer Reviewed Journals and co-authored One Book Chapter. She has presented papers at various National and International Conferences.
