Biography

Dr Sanjay Babu is working as a Project Scientist in the Terrestrial Ecology Division of the Institute since December 2021, He has completed his Master’s degree in Wildlife Science from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Upon completing his Masters, he worked with renowned conservation NGO’s like Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), Noida for a period of 6 months and NOVA Conservation Welfare Society Chhattisgarh for 1 year. He has completed his Doctoral degree in Wildlife discipline from Forest Research Institute (FRI) while working at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS-ISRO), Dehradun. He has a total of 1.5 years of Post-Doctoral experience including his work as a Wildlife and Geospatial Consultant on a Human-Wildlife Conflict Project at GIZ in Delhi, as a Senior Project Fellow in EIA & EA related projects at ICFRE, Dehradun and as a Guest Lecturer at the College of Horticulture and Forestry in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Sanjay has Qualified UGC-NET in Environmental Sciences in 2013 and GATE in Ecology and Evolution in 2017. He is an Awardee of Meritorious RGNF SC/ST Fellowship of UGC and is a recipient of The United Kingdom funded Rufford Small Grants while pursuing his Ph.D. To his credits, he has published 4 Research Papers in Peer-reviewed Journals, 1 Book chapter and presented few papers in Conferences.
