Biography
Dr. Soumya Dasgupta is working as a Scientist in Terrestrial Ecology division. He had done his Master’s in Zoology from the University of Calcutta and Ph.D. from the Department of Environmental Science, Assam University, Silchar. He is having 14 years of Research Experience in the Field of Conservation Biology, both in the reputed academic Institutions (Wildlife Institute of India) and Conservation NGOs (Wildlife Trust of India). He has worked in the Remote areas of North East India, especially in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and also in the Central Indian Landscape. After Completing his Ph.D, he had worked as a Post-Doctoral Project Associate and Project Scientist in Wildlife Institute of India for 5 years. He had published research articles and short notes in reputed journals with high impact factors and guided M.Sc students and Researchers from reputed institutions like Wildlife Institute of India, Forest Research Institute, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and Ambedkar University. He is an avid reader, a quick learner and enjoys high altitude trekking.
