Biography
Dr. L. Prabhadevi has her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in Marine biology from Centre of Advanced Studies in Marine Biology, Annamalai University, Portonovo, Tamilnadu. She is a recipient of University Grants Commission’s JRF and SRF awards during her Ph.D at CAS in Marine Biology, Annamalai University, Tamilnadu. Her Doctorate degree was on “Environmental Inventory of Tidal and Gradient Zones of Coleroon Estuary, South East coast of India” in 1987. Since then, she is engaged in Marine and Fresh Water Ecology and Fishery research. She has served as a Teaching Faculty in Colleges, Universities in India and Ethiopia for a period of 27 years. While serving in Teaching fraternity, she served as an Advisor for 90 Post-graduates and 2 M. Phil students for their research projects. To her credits, she has published 35 research papers and co-authored Two Manuals for Aquaculture students. She is currently serving as a Reviewer for various journals in the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Environmental science and Agriculture.
She has received Fellowship from Department of Ocean Development, Govt. of India for Research Associateship. As a Principal Investigator and Co-investigator, she has completed 6 projects sponsored by University of Kerala, India and Ambo University, Ethipoia. She is an active member in Scientific bodies including Marine Biological Association of India and Seaweed Research and Utilization Association of India.
