Biography
Dr. Krushnakant D. Baxi has his M.Sc., in Marine Science and Ph.D in Zoology (Specialization in Marine Biology) from Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar. His Ph. D was on “A Study on the Population Dynamics of Zooplankton in relation to Environmental factors on some Coastal area of Bhavnagar district, Gujarat”. Dr. Baxi has Extensive Field experience in Survey of Intertidal Macrofauna, Phytoplankton and Zooplanktons Collection and Identification. He has also worked on several Ecological and Environmental Monitoring projects. He has worked as a Science communicator in Kalayan Region Community Science Centre, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, supported by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Gandhinagar. During his Ph.D, he worked as a JRF in the Research project entitled, “Intertidal Macrofaunal Diversity of the Coast of Gulf of Khambhat, Gujarat, India” funded by the ESTC Cell of Ministry of Earth Science, Govt of India. He is conversant in Laboratory instruments pertaining to Physico-chemical parameters of Water and Soil/sediment analysis. He has published Six Research papers in National and International journals of repute. He has also taken part in various State and National level Conferences, Seminars and Training programs. He is also an Avid bird-watcher and an enthusiastic Conservationist.
