GIS & RS facilitates research activities related to biodiversity, land use, soil, geology, hydrological regime. The cell is well equipped with latest GIS based software including ArcGIS 9.3,ERDAS imagine 9.0, Idrishi Kilimanjaro, Cartalinx along with basic software and databases. Till date the cell has mapped various thematic layers of landscape features of Gujarat in general and Kachchh region in particular.
