Kachchh is drained by 97 rivers, which are of ephemeral to intermittent type (non-perennial). Therefore, many reservoirs (231) were built to support irrigation and supply water for domestic use. Since these rivers are non-seasonal, major studies dealing with different environmental aspects of these ephemeral rivers are to be taken up GUIDE in future.
