Environmental Impact Assessment Division
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is dedicated to the environmental, social and economic impacts of developmental and infrastructure related projects and emphasizes on environment and biodiversity conservation, management and policy regulation. The division plays a vital role and provides expert services, scientific inputs, assessment reports, mitigation measures, management plan, conservation plan, and sustainable practices. The division equips the decision makers, corporates and regulators with the empirical evidence needed to mitigate environmental degradation, safeguard biodiversity and promote sustainable practices. The division performs rigorous baseline field surveys, data analysis and interpretation, advanced environmental modelling, risk assessments, regular monitoring and compliance, biodiversity impact assessment. The division is also in the process of conducting statutory studies largely focusing on Mining of Minerals, River Valley Projects, Industrial Estates/Parks/SEZs, Ports, Harbours, break waters and Dredging and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs). The division was provisionally NABET accredited as Category B during 2018 for 03 sectors i.e., Mining of minerals – Opencast Mining; Irrigation Projects; and Ports, Harbours, breakwaters and dredging. Presently, the division is in the process of NABET accreditation.
